How do agencies run these courses?

Two delivery models, both run inside CJIS Online: continuous access to the training library, and targeted assignment after an incident.

Always on (Cyber)

Open in the training library

Courses sit in a training library inside CJIS Online, alongside anything your own organization or your state has uploaded. Progress is tracked, and a user can relaunch a course even if they just took it, with the last completed date shown.

Per incident (Incident Response)

Assigned after an incident

When an incident happens and policy calls for remedial training, an admin assigns the specific courses to the specific people from Manage Training Assignments in CJIS Online. Users are notified on their dashboard and by email, and an admin can cancel an assignment that has not been started yet.

Who buys it

Does a state buy this, or does each agency?

Either, and what you get differs. A state buying it is buying the ability for its agencies to assign remedial training. An agency or vendor buying it directly also gets the library itself.

When a state buys it

Agencies can assign, centrally enabled

States generally do not want to administer remedial training themselves, but policy still requires it after an incident. Buying it at state level pushes that capability down to the agencies.

Agency admins can assign the Peak course library for incident response, without the library being visible to users
Assignments and completion tracked in reporting
Full library access, uploads, and assign-all can be added statewide at additional cost
When an agency or vendor buys it

The full library, plus assignment

Buying it directly rather than through your state adds the training library on top of the assignment capability, including the ability to upload your own courses. If you need more than a couple of your own courses, Peak Training Extension is the add-on that raises that limit.

Training library visible to your people
Upload up to two of your own courses into it, in SCORM or PDF
